Sarah Cotton's artist statement
No matter the medium or subject matter, I always try to tell a bit of a story with my art. Done properly, a piece of art can stick with its audience and even change, on a small scale, the way they feel about life. I seek to reinforce in people a desire to know more about the world and the people in it. My hope is that although my work is stylized, something in it will feel emotionally real to the viewer, and appeal to people of all ages as something that helps them better understand others.
