It's great to see the posts that have a intelligent looking species design. I applaud you on making costume designs too! Wow! The only thing I noticed is the forearms of your character are a little confusing because it could be either a change of skin or type of clothing. Maybe you can clarify more in the transition around the elbow. I hope that was helpful and didn't seem nitpicky!
First off, your linework rocks and I can tell you put a lot of time into it. Second, the silhouette of your colored creature is great. I really like the softness of it too, but I'm not seeing a lot of value changes. I think some more contrast will really help give your piece the last little bit of umph it needs.
LOVE the first one. Reminds me of the character from Kung Fu Panda. The linework is awesome. The second one could've been brought to a similar level of finish, even if it wasn't colored. It just feels a little unfinished.
